With just days left until Christmas, charities and other organizations have started collecting toys and gifts for children and families in need. Below is a list of ways you can donate this Holiday Season.


Toys for Tots

The U. S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots program has collection boxes located all around Lake, McHenry, Kane, and Cook County. The last day to drop off new, unwrapped toys for children up to 12 is December 18.

Catholic Charities of Lake County

Catholic Charities annual Celebration of Giving is a concerted effort to collect gifts for children and families who are in need of assistance at the holidays with new toys, clothing and necessary household items.

Salvation Army in Waukegan

The Salvation Army is accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys through Dec. 19. Donations can be dropped off at 850 S. Green Bay Rd. in Waukegan. This location also has an Angel Tree program. Donors can even register with the virtual Angel Tree to view and select Christmas gift wishes for children in need.


Lake Villa Township Food Pantry

The Township Food Pantry distributes food baskets over the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays to township residents in need. If you would like to help, donations of frozen turkeys or hams, fruits and vegetables are greatly appreciated and accepted during the holiday season.

Village of Barrington "Meals of Hope"

Collections start Friday, November 18 through Friday, December 23.  Bring in your food donations or make a monetary donation to the Northern Illinois Food Bank and help those in need during the holiday season. Donation boxes located in all stores at the Ice House Mall.  


Twice As Nice Mother & Child Holiday Diaper Drive

Twice As Nice Mother & Child's "Deck the Halls with Diapers" campaign has started and will run until December 31st. Help them reach their goal of collecting 10,000 diapers in the month of December.

Lake County Cares Giving Tree

Come by Lake County Cares and get a mitten from their Giving Tree located in the lobby of Gorton Center in Lake Forest. Each mitten has three gift requests from a child in need.
