Several area high school students from across State Senator Dan McConchie’s 26th Senate District traveled to Springfield April 26 to participate in his Youth Advisory Council.
State Senator Dan McConchie (R-Hawthorn Woods) introduced Senate Bill 2670 to allow voters in counties under the Property Tax Extension Limitation Law (PTELL), the state’s property tax cap law, the ability to reduce their property taxes via referendum—something only voters in counties not subject to PTELL’s tax caps are allowed to do.

The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) closed Fairfield Road from IL 176 to Old McHenry Road, to through traffic on Aug. 7. While the road is closed, LCDOT will be replacing two culverts. Each culvert replacement is estimated to take one week. The road will reopen by midnight Aug. 20.

Illinois Southern Baptist Disaster Relief (ISBDR) will be in Lake County this Saturday helping people recover from the recent flooding. ISBDR will be distributing five-gallon buckets filled with cleaning supplies and safety equipment for free.
The Governor announced a Special Session on Wednesday, July 26th in Springfield, therefore, Sen. McConchie's town hall scheduled for July 26th at 7pm in Barrington will be postponed to later date soon to be announced.
